Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

This course, at the CEFR B1 level, is intended for students with grade 12 French or equivalent and is mandatory for students majoring or minoring in French. It enhances students' oral comprehension and production skills to the level necessary for successfully engaging in French university courses and discussions relating to Francophone culture. Prerequisites: AP/FR 1004 3.0 (with a minimum grade of C, or C- under the new grading scheme), or AP/FR 0130 6.0 (with a minimum grade of C, or C- under the new grading scheme), or AP/FR 1030 6.0 (with a minimum grade of C, or C- under the new grading scheme), or GL/FRAN 1830 3.0 (with a minimum grade of C, or C- under the new grading scheme), GL/FRAN 1330 3.0 (with a minimum grade of C, or C- under the new grading scheme), or by placement test. Course credit exclusions: AP/FR 1080 6.0, GL FRAN 1835 3.0, GL/FRAN 2805 6.00.

Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website. Course materials begin to be released on the course website during the first week. To log in to your eClass course visit the York U eClass Portal and login with your Student Passport York Account. If you are creating and participating in Zoom meetings you may also go directly to the York U Zoom Portal.
