This honours seminar explores the debates that surround the use of scientific evidence in the courtroom and how judges, lawyers, and scholars have sought to solve the complex problems that occur when legal actors are obliged to evaluate scientific evidence. While the course focuses primarily on scientific evidence with a particular emphasis on Canadian criminal law, it also covers some of the other controversies that surround the relationship between science and the law.Prerequisites: AP/SOSC 1375 3.00, AP/SOSC 2350 6.00, AP/SOSC 3375 3.00.


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
