The course explores the variegated meanings of Italy -- home of the Roman Empire and Catholicism, birthplace of the Renaissance, locus of artistic richness, passion, drama, and intrigue -- as a place symbolically laden with aesthetic, moral, and spiritual significance. The focus is on the idea of beauty, and the course material is drawn from the visual arts, including film and photography, literature, and music. Course credit exclusion: AP/HUMA 3604 3.00. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusions: AK/EN 3754 6.00, AK/HUMA 3390 3.00, AK/HUMA 3390 6.00.
Course Start Up
Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
