This course provides an introduction to sociological research methods. It gives an overview of both qualitative and quantitative approaches used in sociological inquiry. Students will learn key principles of research design, critical thinking and interpretation of different kinds of data, construction and administration of data collection instruments, as well as ethical considerations. The course prepares students for upper-level courses in research design and empirical methods.Course credit exclusions: GL/CNDS 3680 3.00, GL/CNDS 3690 3.00, GL/POLS 3680 3.00, GL/POLS 3690 3.00, GL/SOCI 3680 3.00, GL/SOCI 3690 3.00.
Course Start Up
Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
