This course introduces the prospects and perils of globalization from a critical human rights perspective. It examines increases in wealth distribution and advances in health and education, scientific and technological developments, poverty reduction, morbidity rates, and mortality reduction alongside the ongoing perils of warfare, racial and ethnic tensions, and new challenges to human rights, including cybercrime and surveillance. Course credit exclusions: AP/SOSC 1950 6.00 Prospects and Perils of Globalization in a Social Justice Context.Note: Approved SOSC General Education course for AP. This course will not count for major credit in HREQ.

Course Start Up
