Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

A comparative introduction, at the more advanced level, to social struggle and change in countries subject to colonial domination, with particular attention to cultural issues and to forms of contestation involving 'race' and racism, sexuality and gender, and social class. Prerequisite: a) Sociology majors: 78 credits including AP/SOCI 1010 6.00, or, for students with equivalent preparation, permission of the coordinator of sociology. Course credit exclusion: AP/REI 4060 6.00 (prior to Fall 2013).

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
