This course is a historical study of children's literature written in the 20th century. It explores possible ways of reading that literature, taking into account such issues as its cultural context and its audience. Course credit exclusions: GL/EN 3590 6.00 (prior to Fall 2013), AP/EN 2304 3.00 (prior to Fall 2011), AP/EN 3174 3.00

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
