This course examines the physical processes and the environmental factors that govern the movement of water and energy in lakes, rivers, oceans and the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum. Boundary-layer climates and mechanisms of water movement and storage are emphasized. Two lecture hours per week, 16 three-hour laboratories over two terms. Prerequisite: AP/GEOG 2510 6.00 or AP/SC/GEOG 1400 6.00. Course credit exclusions: None. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Prerequisite: AK/GEOG 2510 6.00 or AS/SC/GEOG 1400 6.00. Course credit exclusions: AS/GEOG 2400 6.00.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
